Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for account retention by managing service requirements and identifying organic growth opportunities in existing hospital and physician office accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides account management support for a current large, core and small institution and physician office accounts.
  • Identifies organic growth opportunities within current accounts, key decision makers and effectively transitions the opportunity to the territory manager.
  • Proactively communicates with territory manager and regional sales manager on account growth opportunities and at-risk accounts.
  • Conducts periodic (e.g. quarterly or semi-annual) business reviews with clinical, operational and financial decision makers within current customer base.
  • Initiates, develops and grows business relationships with customers at multiple levels in their organization.
  • Increases customer satisfaction by answering questions and resolving issues through a proactive call cycle.
  • Provides customer problem support and resolution. This may include, but is not limited to, customer re-training, logistics support and supply requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any customer issue by leveraging internal resources available through marketing, sales operations, information technology, logistics and client services.
  • Shares information around new product and services, then identifies where these product and services could be sold within the account.
  • Provide on-site support and project management for mass screening events.
  • Demonstrates clinical, operational and financial expertise for all Oxford Immunotec products and services.
  • Maintains detailed records of customer activities through Salesforce.com.
  • Meet and exceed revenue and customer retention goals assigned to territory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science (or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Candidate must have 3-5 years of field-based marketing or territory account management experience.
  • Previous experience in the diagnostic or medical sales industry is highly-preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to act and think professionally and independently.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and utilize clinical data in selling situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile. Additionally, individuals must feel comfortable in situations where they are observing a venipuncture blood draw or see tubes of blood. The employee is also required to interact with a computer and proactively communicate with peers and co-workers. Effectively covering the territory could require car travel between 600 – 1000 miles per week, air travel and overnight travel.
