Overview

The Oxford Sales Specialist (OSS) is responsible for direct sales and territory support for all Oxford Diagnostic Laboratories (ODL) products and services. Current product offerings include T-SPOT.TB and ODL tick-borne disease tests. Call points include hospital laboratories, occupational health, human resources, public health departments, rheumatology, infectious disease, HIV clinics, pediatrics and family medicine within the assigned sales territory.

 

 

This position requires 100% travel within assigned area (East or West) as this specialist will cover vacant territories, support local territory managers during mass screening events and prospect key geographies. The representative should be prepared to train-on, sell and support future products as the company expands. Monthly responsibilities are at the sole discretion of the area vice president (AVP) and will require the OSS to coordinate their local selling activities with the regional sales manager (RSM) and territory manager (TM).

Responsibilities

Meet and exceed the monthly business objectives designated by the AVP. Objectives include:

  • Temporarily lead selling activities for all ODL products and services within a defined territory
  • Collaborate and coordinate responsibilities with the RSM and TM affiliated with each assignment
  • Prospect and generate meaningful leads for all ODL products and services in a defined territory
  • Provide timely and comprehensive feedback to the AVP, RSM and TM during territory coverage
  • Support local RSM and TM during mass screening events. This may include:
    • Multiple day on-site event coverage
    • Daily customer and vendor interaction
    • Proactive problem solving and direction to phlebotomy vendors
    • Coordinating courier pick-ups
    • Daily updates to RSM, TM and internal staff ultimately responsible for the event
  • Daily use of Salesforce.com to:
    • Track daily activities
    • Update account information (e.g. contact names, account qualification)
    • Forecast and maintain a territory funnel/pipeline
    • Assess sales trends
  • Successfully complete all Oxford Immunotec (OI) training and prescribed on-boarding plan
  • Effective time management – make sound business judgments to maximize productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Effectively lead T-SPOT.TB/ODL in-services, training and implementation
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science (or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Candidate must have 2-3 years of sales experience. Business-to-business sales experience is highly
  • Demonstrates qualities consistent with a high ego drive, as well as resilience and high humility.
  • Demonstrates ability to act independently.
  • Candidate must have the ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and utilize clinical data in selling situations.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be available for 100% travel.
  • Candidate must be based in Atlanta or Boston

Effectively covering the sales territory could require car travel between 600 – 1000 miles per week, frequent air travel and constant overnight travel.
