Overview

This newly created position is designed to proactively monitor market information and interpret sales data to recommend potential action steps to the sales team. The Sales Business Analyst is expected to utilize critical thinking skills and be self-motivated to create a positive impact to field sales and sales leadership.

 

The Sales Business Analyst will perform all assigned functions in sales operations pertaining to sales reporting and analysis, sales forecasting, and Salesforce.com administration, as well as ad hoc analysis as required.  This position will work cross-functionally across Oxford Immunotec – primarily with the commercial team, field sales and sales leadership.  The main objective for this role is to provide tools that enable commercial leadership to make sound, analytically-driven operating decisions.

 

The Sales Business Analyst will proactively and reactively build and execute analytical programs that increase sales effectiveness and productivity.  This position is also responsible for developing custom automation and assisting in Salesforce.com administration.

Responsibilities

  • Create and distribute standardized and custom reports and analysis. Reports and analysis should be high-quality, easily understandable and delivered in a timely manner.  Proactively adapt sales reports as selling conditions/environment changes.  Proactively identify and troubleshoot data abnormalities to ensure consistent reporting
  • Implement and manage business and technical processes/workflows and enhancements within Salesforce.com. This may include managing large datasets, cross-functional projects, creating reports and dashboards and conducting training to support users
  • Design, implement and manage quarterly and annual field sales forecasting processes. Establish high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency so data can be used across the commercial functions. Provide insights into sales pipeline to assist field sales and sales leadership. Identify areas for process automation and improvement. Emphasis on delivering accurate forecasts on a regular basis
  • Proactively and reactively create reports and analysis that support actionable decision-making for sales and commercial leadership teams. This could include, but is not limited to, analysis that assess customer trends, customer segmentation, territory manager productivity, account retention, close rates, pipeline health and territory growth
  • Prepare monthly commission payments, statements and reports. Analyze effectiveness of compensation plans and recommend changes to compensation to accelerate sales
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or other analytical/ business fields
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis supporting sales or marketing
  • Salesforce.com Certification a plus
  • Highly proficient with Salesforce.com, SharePoint and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are required
  • Self-starter who combines a strong technical understanding with excellent verbal, presentation and written communication and social skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams across the organization to reach common goals
  • Ability to solicit diverse views and opinions from others in order to maximize work quality. Breaks down barriers to builds consensus
  • Ability to apply professional and technical expertise to identify innovative solutions that meet department and business needs
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex, quantitative information to all levels within the company
  • Excellent financial analysis skills with a good understanding of how to manipulate data for analysis and reporting
  • Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate corporate policies
  • Experience in managing multiple reports, often on tight deadlines, with diverse priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced high growth environment
