  • Overview

    The Shipping & Receiving Team Lead is hands-on and responsible for guiding Team Members in day-to-day Shipping and Receiving activities during operational hours.  This may include organizing Team Members assignments throughout the day in order to ensure all Customer Supply and Sales Orders are processed in a timely manner. 


    • Ability to work under pressure both independently and within a team-oriented environment.

    • Monitors the workflow and performs the essential functions of a Shipper-Receiver to ensure completion of all daily tasks to achieve daily Business Operational goals.
      • Receive incoming shipments daily, which includes opening, unpacking, sorting, and delivering received patient specimens to the Laboratory Operations Team.
      • Scan empty shipping containers into the Shipper Tracker Database.
      • Inspect, assemble, and package empty shipping containers for outbound shipments.
      • Affix FedEx shipping labels on packed shipments.
    • Runs a Daily Replenishment Report in Shipper Tracker to ensure all Customer locations are maintained to their desired inventory levels. 
    • Works with Logistics, Client Support, and Laboratory Operations Teams to ensure clear communication regarding any received courier deliveries, incorrect shipping deliveries, and specimen deliveries throughout the day, six days a week.  
    • Responsible for fulfilling the US domestic and international Customer Sales Orders by pulling, inspecting, packaging, and shipping the finished products as prescribed by the associated Delivery Note(s).
    • Oversees the packaging of BD Vacutainer tubes for the use in Customer Replenishment and Clinical Trial Supply requests. 
    • Participates in Quality-related activities including, but not limited to writing Area-specific Non-Conformances, CAPAs, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions.
    • Follows all company and safety policies/procedures. 
    • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential. 
    • Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager. 


    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to navigate MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet, and learn to navigate a proprietary Salesforce.com. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow coworkers, Supervisors, Managers, and the Sales/Sales Ops Team both orally and in writing.  
    • Ability to work overtime as needed to accommodate the various daily courier deliveries/sample volume.



    • Ability to walk, bend, lift, and move packages, up to 50 lbs in weight, safely in order to meet FedEx Ground/Express/Freight pick-up deadlines. 
    • Standing for long periods of time.
    • 0% travel is required.
