  • Overview

    This position fills a key role in the Medical Affairs function and supports the internal and external needs of our global Company for medical information. The primary function of this position involves generation and implementation of publication plans and publications/abstracts related to company generated data. In addition the positon requires lead interaction with external investigators for data presentations and manuscript writing; monitoring medical literature and practice guidelines for information of relevance to the company and its commercial product(s); monitors relevant competitor data; analyzing and synthesizing the information for Medical Affairs and Marketing, and provides timely written summaries to the Managers of Medical Affairs and Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs for distribution to other relevant company functions. The applicant must have good communication skills to facilitate and coordinate efforts with corresponding Company personnel in other geographic regions.


    • Participate in data analysis groups to gain data familiarity

    • Generate and implement publication plan for all company sponsored clinical studies

    • Act as company contact with external investigators and drive timely publications on generated data

    • Interface with external investigators and biostatisticians for writing of abstracts/manuscripts

    • Generate publications/presentations on ODL data for journal and conference submissions

    • Generate monthly synopsis reports of new publications that are noteworthy and could impact the business

    • Maintain Zotero reference management database and provide training for internal end users

    • Maintain internal meta-analysis of pertinent company data

    • Attend appropriate international, national or regional medical conferences as needed to learn and evaluate new scientific, product or competitive information, and when needed to respond to inquiries from HCPs and scientific thought leaders

    • Develop working relationships with scientific thought leaders from academic, commercial and health governing institutions

    • Review of promotional materials to ensure medical and technical information is scientifically relevant and accurate and claims are adequately supported by credible and relevant data


    • MS in Life Sciences, PhD preferred

    • At least 5 years’ experience in medical writing

    • Experience in medical devices and/or diagnostics, medical affairs, and clinical research experience preferred

    • Demonstrated project management skills

    • Expertise in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

    • Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with sales and health care professionals

    • Must be able to travel approximately 10%
