  • Overview

    The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of the full-cycle accounting tasks, including fixed assets, month-end/year-end closing activities, analysis and reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Accountants
    • Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries to the general ledger, including those for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and cost center allocations
    • Reconcile month-end balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and accounts receivable
    • Prepare detailed revenue reconciliations and reports
    • Prepare clinical trial accruals, working closely with the clinical team
    • Perform monthly close tasks including financial analysis, completion of check lists, reconciliations, and assist with internal and external audits
    • Monitor accrued expenses
    • Perform and document controls in accordance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
    • Review sales invoices and sales receipts
    • File sales and use tax returns
    • Evaluate internal processes and make suggestions for continuous improvement
    • Special projects, as needed
    • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Business Administration
    • 4+ years experience with general ledger software and processing financial transactions, including journal entries
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel 
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
