Oxford Immunotec is an Immunology-based global diagnostics company, primarily focused on the diagnosis and monitoring of immune and infectious diseases.

The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for providing medical and scientific support to company products and programs particularly in emerging markets. Representing the company before thought leaders and customers this is a key and high level role within the Medical Affairs Team and Company.


  • To support protocol development and data gathering for proposed OI sponsored clinical studies
  • To develop and engage a KOL network across by demonstrating good knowledge of the products (commercial products or under development) and clinical areas in support of studies and other initiatives
  • To support our publications plan and participate in data analysis
  • To provide technical leadership in site monitoring during clinical studies
  • To educate and support the internal distribution of key publications and summaries
  • To provide scientific representation at external events e.g., presentation at conferences, symposia and congresses.
  • To work with the global Medical Affairs team on global projects.
  • Work to Oxford Immunotec Company Values at all times


  • An understanding of the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries
  • Understanding of Quality System concepts and requirements including GMP and ISO systems.
  • PhD or M.Sc. in a Natural Sciences subject (e.g. Immunology, Cell Biology etc)
  • Industry experience of 3 or more years in a similar area

  • Experience in the management of scientific data

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills and ability to develop and translate scientific affairs strategies into actions

  • Proven success in relationship development with key opinion leaders

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Availability to travel
  • Capable of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including facilitation of interactive discussions and presentations to large and diverse audiences.
  • Customer focus and credibility with customers
  • Cultural sensitivity, international experience and more than one spoken language are advantages
