 The Scientific Marketing Manager (SMM) is a newly created position offering a unique opportunity to drive the commercial success of our T-SPOT Technology kits using scientific and clinical expertise. The SMM will become the knowledge centre within the organisation for all clinical and scientific know-how for the portfolio, supporting sales activities by the development of collateral, in-field sales team support and interacting with thought leaders. The SMM will use these relationships to drive successful development of the commercial strategy in the EU/ROW region.


We are considering those based in the following places: Northern Italy - Milan or Turin, Germany and the UK. 



The SMM will:

  • Develop marketing and sales collateral to differentiate our offering and enhance the value proposition through superior clinical performance and the resultant impact on clinical care outcomes.
  • Drive interactions with thought leaders, professional societies and strategic partnerships leading to a customer-centric culture.

Success in the role therefore requires a deep understanding of the clinical and laboratory services provided across healthcare ecosystems, a high standard of professional communication, proven relationship management skills and strategic thinking to convert this expertise into deliverable, commercially successful, programs.


  • Support the development and delivery of the marketing plan with:
  • Delivery of an enhanced sales toolbox for effective interactions with all profiles of decision maker
  • Development of marketing campaigns, including digital, to educate on our differentiated offering and drive understanding in the market of our clinical advantages.
  • Collate and regularly communicate on market and competitive intelligence, especially in the areas of clinical application.
  • Develop and deliver sales & business partner training program.
  • Build and implement a scientific marketing program with focus on competencies, literature, and training, including development of a commercial scientific educational plan.
  • Develop a network of customer and KOL interactions to cultivate scientific and clinical proof points that directly impact the commercial success of the portfolio.
  • Actively work with Medical Affairs, Development and Product Marketing teams to assess and provide strategic direction of potential opportunities based on strong business case assessment to support go/no go decisions.
  • Be recognized as a thought leader in the company.


Technical skills and abilities

  • BSc/MSc/PhD or equivalent experience in an appropriate scientific area
  • Marketing qualification preferred.
  • >5 years’ experience in specialist healthcare/diagnostic sector
  • Prior experience of developing and working with a medical/scientific KOL network.
  • Experience of medical education activities preferred.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English. Any additional languages would be preferable.
  • Excellent presentation skills (both development and delivery)
  • Experience of developing educational and training programs.
  • Ability to translate highly technical and complex studies, issues, and concepts into simple and meaningful terms for sales representatives and hospital customers.
  • International experience
