Overview

This position is a member of the IT ERP organization and will act as a key link between the operations/mfg and quality functions and the technology team, helping to maximize the productivity and insight gained from a newly implemented ERP system.   The role will provide a combination of support, trouble shooting and project work; involving process improvement, systems design, implementation and administration.

Our business is growing and changing rapidly, and our systems will need to adapt with them. You will assist in defining, analysing and interpreting business requirements, identifying system impacts, designing and documenting the functional solution and then driving the testing and implementation through to completion.  You will work closely with technology suppliers as they release patches and software upgrades to evaluate impact and assist on testing and rollout as well as leverage their support channels to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the agreed upon business processes and how the ERP and reporting systems are configured to support them.  Collaborate with functional leads and super users from various functions to identify areas for improvement and how the systems might be further leveraged to facilitate processes.
  • Provide second line support to the user community in its operational use of the systems, including troubleshooting problems with using the software and in responding to changes in roles and responsibilities.
  • Own enhancements and project tasks by translating functional needs into solution designs, configure or coordinate with technical team to build and test the solution and then coordinate testing, training, and rollout.
  • Configure the system in response to changes in business operations, for instance changes to the manufacturing or warehousing processes, and assist in the delivery of metrics and reporting.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and quality management needs consistent with our regulatory requirements.  Play an active role in our change management process.
  • Be the expert and provide guidance on solution approach, capabilities and best practices as defined by the vendor in supporting specific business processes.
  • Assist in the creation of test scenarios, scripts and assist in the execution of test scripts when needed.
  • Liaise with vendor’s support team and stay current on vendor’s product roadmap to ensure updates, patches and new features are deployed in a controlled manner.
  • Create system and support documentation and assist in documenting end user training materials where needed

Qualifications

Demonstrated ERP system and process implementation skills:

  • Proven success implementing IFS ERP systems for a global manufacturing company.   Experience implementing solutions focused on manufacturing, planning, warehousing, purchasing, supply chain, order management, equipment management required.   6 years of experience with IFS is desired, but candidates with IFS experience and other major ERP systems will be considered.
  • Demonstrated skills in documenting business requirements and designing business processes and systems solutions.   
  • Experience working in medical device or diagnostic companies supporting quality management systems and related processes is highly desired
  • Success creating training material and training staff members.
  • Experience administering and supporting reporting tools and assisting in providing solutions that deliver process metrics and KPI’s required, with a working knowledge of SQL and data base queries desired.
