Overview

This position is a member of the Development Autuomation Team and is specifically responsible for design, performance, and interpretation of experiments in support of Oxford Immunotec’s product development workstream.

 

Overall responsibilities:

 

  • Working collaboratively as a part of the Development Team, responsible for conducting experiments that are designed and conducted in line with overall product development strategy within Oxford Immunotec.

Responsibilities

  • With supervision from their line-manager, taking responsibility for the design and conduct of experiments supporting Development Team goals.
  • Ensuring that work is completed to agreed timelines.
  • Ensuring that any likely delays or issues with a given project are communicated to their line-manager/project leader, in a timely manner.
  • With significant input from their line-manger, prioritising workload to ensure key objectives and project specific activities, agreed with supervisor, are met on time.
  • Support the organsiation, execution, and analysis of clinical trials, in collaboration with Clinical Affairs team, when required (preparation of paperwork/shipping of reagents/lab training/data collation).
  • Represent OI at clinical sites outside of UK for extended periods of time (minimum of 1 month).
  • Performing duties in other departments, on an occasional basis to meet critical Company objectives as required.
  • Ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with the Company Quality System and to the required Regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring that conclusions in written reports reflect the data presented and reports are of the highest quality.
  • As required, responsible for training of junior members of staff
  • Responsible for ensuring lab stock/consumables are monitored/replenished on a regular basis
  • As part of a team, ensure blood requests are organised and carried out to support conduct of experimental work (including both internal/external, stock management, control of associated paperwork)
  • Ensuring that the Quality Management System, including, ISO 13485:2016, and ISO 17025:2005, is adhered to at all times and in all aspects of the job
  • When required operate as a scientist in support of running of ODL

Qualifications

Desirable Technical skills and abilities

  • An understanding of the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industries
  • Medical Devices automation experience
  • Familiarity with Quality System concepts and requirements including GMP and ISO systems.
  • Previous experience in protocol/report writing/handling of data with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to spend extended periods of time representing OI at clinical sites outside of UK 

 

Essential Technical skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of Windows and Office bases applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Degree or Equivalent
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work loads
  • Previous work experience

 

Emotional skills and abilities

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Capable of working effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
